CAMPAIGN FOR A LANE: COME RIDE WITH CHIEF (LIM GUAN ENG)

Aku tak nampak sapa2 promote Ride ni. Aku cuma nampak Adiharriman promote ride ni. Maybe sebab ada berbaur politik kot since Lim Guan Eng pun sibuk nak kayuh. Banyak sponsorship untuk ride ni salah satunya CIMB foundation. So sapa2 yang kat penang nak merasa berkayuh boleh laa turun kayuh. Aku promote since xtvt riadah.. kasi keluar peluh tuu.. cergas skit.

Ada tiga categories :

A) Family rides-Flag off: 8.30am, present yourself at: 7.30am
(Difficulty: Easy & open for 200 riders)
12 km from Town Hall Esplanade to Gurney Drive, then turn into Bagan Jermal and back.

B) Teluk Bahang rides-Flag off: 8.00am, present yourself at: 7.00am
(Difficulty: Easy to Moderate & open for 300 riders)
50 km ride from Town Hall Esplanade to Teluk Bahang roundabout and back.

C) Round island rides-Flag off: 7.00am, present yourself at: 6.00am
(Difficulty: Moderate to Challenging & open for 500 riders)
80 km from Town Hall Esplanade proceed to Lebuhraya Jelutong passing through Bayan Lepas then Balik Pulau follow by heading to Teluk Bahang then Batu Ferringhi and back

Ride Details

Start and Finish : All rides Start/Finish at Padang Katong, Kangar Perlis

(N6⁰ 26.452 E100⁰ 11.900)

Route : Kangar - Hatyai - Padang Besar - Kangar

Distance : 224 km

Speed Guide Line (MTB average speed) :

• Slow : 20 ~ 23 km/h
• Medium : 24 ~ 29 km/hr
• Fast : 30+ km/h

Closing Date (Registration & Payment) : 28th Sept 2009. Limited to 150 riders.

The Ride :

• 17th Oct Time 07.00 - Meet at Padang Katong, Kangar Perlis. Short Brief by KGB and zankx. On completion start ride. Route Pdg Katong - Wang Kelian approx. 37 km. Regroup at Wang Kelian for documentation & breakfast.
• 18th Oct Time 13.00 - Regroup for departure. Route Hatyai - Sadao - Pdg Besar - Kangar approx 92 km. Regroup at Padang Besar for documentation.

Rule of The Road and The Ride :

• Know ur' pace and be in group i.e. Slow, Medium or Fast.
• For safety reasons "NO SOLO RIDE" or showing "kamikaze ride".
• KPLR 2009 @ Long Distance Ride are 'suitable for all level from beginners to hardcore. Rides include some 'moderate' hill climbs.
• Bring your own snack food, fluids and drink for/on the ride.
• Spare cash money Thailand Bath at least 300.00 Bath.
• Bring at least 2 spare tubes, pump, 2 water bottles and some pocket food.
• Medium group rides are 'recreationa'l and those 'excited'and wanting to test their fitness, join Fast group. No Speed Limit !

• Registration for KPLR : RM 50.00 only including accommodation (sharing - 3 persons), T-Shirt and support car.

• If you need 2b alone - let us know. But you have to pay RM 60.00 accommodation, RM 20.00 T-Shirt + RM 10.00 for support team.

Before Your Ride :

• Make sure your bike is in good condition. Get 'slick' or semi-slick tires.
• Bring/check your spare tubes, pump, some pocket food.
  
• Border pass, International Passport, Group Border Pass.
• Money - at least 300.00 Thailand Bath.
• Hand phone.

• Learn some basic Thai words (click).
