DIY Painting fridge -PIMP My Fridge :) Day 2

Finally i manage to get some free time to update to this blog.Hmm..check it out the new look :). yesterday after work, i continue working up on the secondhand fridge and this time i'm able to revive the old fridge. It looks cool tho like a brand new..damn i like it. So here is the steps :)

First, things that you need,

- Roller paint and tray
- paint brush
- 1 litre Enamel based paint ( I choose Berger Gloss paint) you can find at any Hardware store cost around Rm 26
- Screwdriver (used to open the paint tin)
- masking tape
- Thinner

So before you open up the can, shake well first.then use the screw driver to open up the can.Stirred the paint to make sure it mixed well.. you can use some stick or unused wood to stir it.Stir it for a couple of minutes then pour into the roller tray.For this work, i used a roller paint rather than a paint brush.. because you will get a smooth and even surface paint.. and i need to remind you using an enamel based is kinda hard to paint its a bit sticky so if youre using a paint brush you will see the surface is not kinda smooth and you tend to make it messy and the result would be disastrous.So i you feel the paint is kinda sticky pour a little bit of thinner.

During rolling the painting up and down make sure you do it 3 or 4 times but make sure the paint covered all area and don't try to roll up and down again after that because the paint tend to dry fast and youll end up making the surface rough and spoil the surface and thus you need to use sand paper again to clear out the rough spot because of the paint.Man.. phew believe me.. is kinda diffcult to paint using the glossy based type of paint.

Make sure the first coating you paint it light just to make sure all the area are covered.So once the first coating has finish.Leave it dry for 1 day.The next day apply, another coating this to make sure the paint is a bit thick and make it smoother and glossy and then leave it dry for 6-8 hours.You can you see the above pic... can you see the reflection :grin.Lastly once the paint is dry, you can screw and put back the fridge holder and walaaaaa.. done :).. ohh well need to find something to stuffed in the fridge :).
